On Wednesday, 18th of September 2019, nine students got arrested at DUT, following a violent student protest under the hashtag #JusticeForSandile.
Hertine is the University’s student accommodation that trended earlier this year on Twitter under #ShutdownHertineCourt as students voiced out various issues about the substandard conditions at the residence.
